Who we are
European Technology Group (“ETG”) is an evergreen holding company focused on acquiring, building, and growing software businesses that are running the public sector. Founded by a former Blackstone Private Equity professional and supported by top-tier investors and software executives, ETG combines a commitment to entrepreneurial excellence with a multi-decade horizon.
Over the next 3-4 years, ETG plans to invest up to €100 million into niche software companies across Europe, starting in the DACH region. These businesses typically generate €1-5 million in EBITDA, and we aim to complete 2-3 acquisitions per year while scaling this pace over time. ETG’s mission is to support these businesses through strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and a focus on sustainable growth while preserving the founder’s legacy.
To realize this vision, ETG employs a decentralized management framework while establishing centers of excellence to refine go-to-market strategies, enhance product development, and drive talent acquisition and incentivization. ETG’s seasoned board, comprising leading software CEOs and investors with decades of expertise, provides critical insights and guidance to its portfolio companies.
Your Role: Intern in Business Development and Private Equity
Are you passionate about entrepreneurship, investing, business development and technology? As an Intern at ETG, you will be an integral part of our M&A and deal origination team, which is lead by the founder and the head of M&A. This role offers hands-on experience in identifying acquisition opportunities, engaging with business owners, and contributing directly to our mission of transforming the software landscape in Europe. We are looking for individuals with strong work ethics, curiosity, and a proactive mindset who are excited to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Industry Research: Conduct detailed market research to identify potential acquisition targets within ETG’s focus sectors.
- Target Sourcing: Support the creation and maintenance of target lists, leveraging state of the art AI tools and databases to identify potential companies.
- Outreach Support: Assist in the development of automated, personalized outreach strategies and communication with business owners and intermediaries.
- Analysis and Evaluation: Help analyze company profiles, financial data, and market positioning to assess fit with ETG’s investment criteria.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Founder and senior team members on various initiatives related to M&A and deal origination.
This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in private equity and entrepreneurship while contributing to the growth of an innovative holding company with a unique longterm approach.
What We Are Looking For
We seek motivated individuals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and demonstrate a strong interest in building businesses. The ideal candidate will have:
- Education: Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree at a top-tier university with backgrounds in technology, business, finance, economics or related field
- Prior Work Experience: Experience in a fast-paced environment (consulting, private equity or investment banking) is a plus, but can be outweighed by an excellent academic track record
- Work Ethic: A proactive attitude, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to excellence in every project. We value a strong drive to learn and contribute over specific technical expertise.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: 80/20 mindset and a genuine interest in business development, investing, technology, and innovation.
- Analytical Skills: An ability to analyze financial and market data to draw actionable insights.
- Location: While our preference is for candidates to be based in Central London office, we remain open to remote arrangements for exceptional individuals who demonstrate alignment with ETG’s mission and values. London-based candidates require “right to work”
